Nomsa has changed and is ready to leave for the day. Sofia and her siblings are downstairs with mom who is choosing some music to listen to. With Sofia on mom’s hip, mom fetches her food from the kitchen and settles down to feed, placing Sofia in the highchair and strapping her in. Mom swops the knife that Sophia is mouthing for a spoon. As the first spoon of food is presented to Sofia she puts her hands up and pushes it away. “Yum”, says mom but Sofia covers her mouth. Mom puts the spoon back in the bowl and transfers the food from the spoon onto mom's hand and offers it to Sofia. She tastes the food, scrunching up her face as she tastes it, but then continues to take from mom and to feed herself. Mom intersperses Sofia taking and feeding herself with the occasional spoon full of food. After a while Sofia starts to shake her head in time with the music. Mom moves the spoon away for a moment before offering more food, which Sofia takes. A few more mouthfuls follow by some resistance. Raphael, in the background, comments that this is the last food for Fia and that mom must come to him and Luca. Mom tries to slip another mouthful of food in but Sofia covers her mouth and shakes her head. Mom puts the food down, takes of the bib and tries one last spoon of food. Sofia shakes her head, waves and claps her hands saying “uh uh”. Mom copies her “Uh uh”, both shaking their heads. One last attempt is pushed away, “Okay, you’re done” says mom. “Thank you mommy, that was yummy” mom says on Sofia’s behalf.
