Leago | Attachment (secure/insecure), Crawling/standing/walking, Curiosity, Separation, Siblings, Support
Leago has just turned one a day or two before filming. He has woken up, finding that mom is out. He is sitting with granny, crying. His uncle, Rodney, and cousin, Naledi, are visiting. Uncle tries to calm him and granny calls Naledi to show Leago the photo album containing images of him from his birth, a year ago. Leago stops crying and looks at the photographs. Mom walks in from a shopping trip. She has bought a small camping chair and is encouraging Leago to come and sit in it. He is unsure, tries it for a few moments and then climbs out and crawls away, before returning and crawling to the front door where he stops at the open gate. Naledi joins him there and plays with him before they both re-enter the house.
Mom brings a pair of shoes for Leago – these are his first shoes. Mom encourages him to stand in them and he plays with them before crawling around. One of the shoes comes off when he an Naledi play. They crawl around after each other and interact closely. Finally they sit on the floor together and look through the photo album again, bending some of the pages. Mom warns from the background: “If you break the album I will hit you both.”
